Surfing is very a popular water activity in the world, where wave riders stand up on a surfboard, which glide across the surface of the water until the wave breaks upon the shore and loses its energy. Costa Rica is one of the top surfing destinations in the world to learn surfing. With an average water temperature of 84 degrees and consistent waves throughout the year, Guanacaste Golden Coast has amazing surf breaks for first timers.
Surfing is a sport with multiple interpretations, for many people, it is just a recreational activity, physical activity, and a competitive sport, but for others, it is almost a religion, a lifestyle, an addiction, and a spiritual connection with Nature. The lesson time depends on the time of the ocean tide that day. Check with the sales executive who will reconfirm for you the pick-up time from your selected hotel. Once you arrive at the selected Beach, the professional instructor will introduce you to the surfing fundamentals, etiquette, safety, wave dynamics, paddling skills, surfboard positioning, maneuvering, proper stand-up and riding techniques.
After warming up, the instructor will provide you with the surfboard and wet suit and you are ready to ride the waves and to start the fun. Beginners will learn to surf in the white-water part of the wave; the first attempts will always be the most challenging, with some jumping and lot of splashing but after some minutes of practice, you will gain more experience to stand up on the surfboard and enjoy the thrilling sensation of surfing over the waves.
For surfer’s experts, we can arrange visits to the most intrepid beaches of Guanacaste such as Avellanas, Playa Grande, Marbella, Playa Negra or even the iconic Witch Rock.
Includes: Certified instructor, surfboard, rash guard, sunscreen, hydration, locker to store belongings, a smoothie and a freshwater shower.
Children’s policy for tours: Children from 1 to 10 years old are allowed but must be accompanied by their parents or an adult, they must pay the price of a private class if they want to take the tour, they require an instructor for each one.
