DAY 1 LIVINGSTONE, VICTORIA FALLS

Upon arrival to Livingstone Airport, transfer to your lodge. Situated along the southern border of Zambia, Victoria Falls is a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River. It forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and stretches across almost two kilometres into a gorge over one hundred metres below - making it one of the world’s widest waterfalls. Dubbed ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ by locals, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a popular tourist destination for those visiting Zambia. It is world-renowned for its sheer beauty and offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in spectacular landscapes inhabited by abundant wildlife.

DAY 2 LIVINGSTONE, VICTORIA FALLS

The luxurious Tongabezi Lodge is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, just upstream of Victoria Falls. The lodge features a lounge, a bar, two main area swimming pools, and a gym. Meals are served in the large dining room, on an outdoor deck overlooking the river, in the privacy of your room, or floating on the Zambezi River. The six Houses and five River Cottages are each individually styled and cater for two to five guests. Sunset and sunrise cruises, game drives, and fishing are some of our inclusive activities. Victoria Falls can be viewed in close proximity to the lodge, on a short excursion with your guide. Enjoy the diverse activities proposed by the lodge.

Tongabezi Lodge offers the following activities:
• Visit to the Tongabezi Trust School, Tujatane. School terms/times apply.
• Visit to the local village.
• Sunrise and sunset boat trip on the Zambezi.
• Picnic lunch on a private island in the Zambezi.

DAY 3 LIVINGSTONE – CENTRAL KAFUE

Transfer by fligtht to the Kafue National Park. Set in Zambia, the Kafue National Park is the largest park in the country and the second-largest in Africa. The contrasting landscape of the Central Kafue features riverine bush, miombo and savannah woodlands, vast open plains and majestic granite outcrops. Visitors can enjoy the pristine natural beauty of the diverse scenery and its natural, unspoilt beauty. Drive along the Spinal Road for a chance to discover the most remote parts of the Central Kafue National Park. Don’t miss the opportunity to spot a wide range of African wildlife with regular sightings of puku, impala and bushbuck and catch a glimpse of the countless bird species that call this area home. Enjoy the diverse activities proposed by the lodge.

DAY 4 CENTRAL KAFUE

Ila Safari Lodge is a true eco-lodge providing facilities of the highest quality to a maximum of 24 guests. The lodge is located on the banks of the mighty Kafue River in an area of abundant wildlife and boasts 180 degree views out across the water. The central boma is best described by the phrase ’eco friendly meets dynamic design’ and is the showpiece of our property. The lodge has 10 states of the art luxury safari tents perched each on their own deck reaching out over the banks of the Kafue River. Included in our 10 top-notch tenants are 2 larger family suites. Each tent has been individually designed to mesh with the flora surrounding it providing shade, privacy and your very own piece of Kafue wilderness.
The interiors as well as the private decks are furnished in chic, modern African style and every comfort has been considered. All tents feature en suite bathrooms and either outside showers or baths. Beds are extra length for the most comfortable nights sleep. Mosquito nets are spacious and billowing and are turned down for you each evening.

DAY 5 CENTRAL KAFUE – KAFUE NATIONAL PARK

Flight transfer from Central Kafue Chunga airstrip to Busunga airstrip in Kafue National Park. Set in the heart of western Zambia, Kafue National Park is the country’s biggest and oldest National Park. The Lufupa, Lunga, and Kafue rivers provide the lifeblood of the reserve, with the annual summer flood of the Lufupa creating an impressive delta. The floodplains, rivers, and woodlands support an impressive array of animal and birdlife. Visitors can catch glimpses of the hippos swimming in the waters of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi, along with some of the biggest crocodiles in southern Africa. The park is home to over 500 bird species and numerous animals. Watch zebras and lions on the northern Busanga Plains, and antelopes and elephants on the more remote southern Nanzhila Plains. Cheetahs, not usually found easily, can be found throughout the park. Other species include warthogs, aardvarks, and monitor lizards.

DAYS 6 AND 7 KAFUE NATIONAL PARK

DAY 8 KAFUE NATIONAL PARK – SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Flight transfer from Busunga airstrip in Kafue National Park to Mfuwe via Lusaka airport and road transfer to the camp. Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks contain some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.

9 - 10

DAYS 9 AND 10 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Shawa Luangwa Camp is based in South Luangwa, ideally located at the crossing of the magnificent South Luangwa National Park and the amazing Nsefu sector. It can be reached from Mfuwe Airport after a 60-minute drive. Set along the banks of the Luangwa River, this intimate camp offers an authentic bush experience, underpinned by responsible tourism practices. With the legendary Jacob Shawa as their guide, guests will be assured of the most amazing sightings during game drives, walking safaris and bush breakfasts. Shawa Luangwa Camp accommodates 10 guests with 5 uniquely-styled luxury safari tents, 2 of which can convert into a family tent. The centre boma is double- storey, lifting guests up to have a clear view over the river.

DAY 11 SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK – LIKOMA ISLAND, MALAWI

Flight transfer from Mfuwe airport to Likoma Island via Lilongwe international airport. Although in Mozambican waters, Likoma Island is Malawian territory and is the larger of the two inhabited islands of Lake Malawi, measuring seventeen square kilometres across. The island boasts some lovely beaches, friendly locals, and predominantly flat terrain with a baobab dotted southern side. It is home to the headquarters of the University Mission to Central Africa, Livingstone’s mission, and hence it remained British territory when the Lake was divided politically after World War Two. The island is famous for the large, beautiful St. Peter’s Cathedral, featuring numerous stained glass windows and intricate soapstone details. Visitors can relax on pristine beaches, snorkel and dive in the crystal-clear waters, and enjoy a variety of watersports.

DAYS 12 AND 13 LIKOMA ISLAND, MALAWI

Sprawled along the white sandy beaches of Likoma Island, in the heart of Lake Malawi, is Kaya Mawa. This boutique lodge welcomes honeymooners, families, and friends for an indulgently carefree getaway.
