DAY 1 LIMA

Upon arrival, on the first day of your trip to Peru, you will be welcomed by our personnel at Lima airport and transferred to the selected hotel.
Afternoon City Tour
You will learn about the two characters of Lima: the modern one, reflected in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro; and the historic one, encapsulated in its historic center declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Along the tour through different districts of the city, we will see how the old and the modern coexist in buildings such as the Museum of Italian Art, Palace of Justice, Museum of Lima, Plaza San Martín, among others. We will discover the center of Lima on foot, having the Main Square as the focal point: a beautiful colonial square worthy of photography, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace. We will have the opportunity to enter one of the most iconic ecclesiastical spaces in Lima, the Convent of Santo Domingo, also declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity and where the relics of three Peruvian saints are found: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres and San Juan Macías. Leaving the historic center, we will return to modern Lima, meeting the Pacific Ocean for a fascinating view that we can enjoy from the iconic Park of Love and its famous sculpture created by national artist Víctor Delfín.

Accommodation : Lima for 2 nights

DAY 2 LIMA

Day at leisure.

Meals : Breakfast

Optional Excursions : Half Day bohemian and artistic Barranco walking (4 hours; private; a supplement will apply)
You will explore Lima’s creative hub: visit artists’ workshops, handicraft shops, and enjoy some of the best street art next to spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Lima Bay. Among beautiful historic architecture, you will learn about the history of the city, full of lovely roads, old houses, and small plazas, as well as buzzing cafes and restaurants. Take a stroll along the “malecon” and the famous “Bridge of Sighs”; visit the Barranco Main Square and hidden spots that only locals know. A visit to a renowned Peruvian artist’s home (Victor Delfin) and atelier will give you a sense of the boheme atmosphere this area has had since many years ago. And a brief stop at a prestigious local muralist’s workshop, whose pieces adorn many streets of the neighborhood, will show you how creativity continues to be in the heart of the Barranco experience. You will also get to take a peek at the areas’ best Peruvian art and handicraft stores.

DAY 3 LIMA · AREQUIPA

This morning, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Arequipa, which is a beautiful Spanish Colonial city nestled beneath the magnificent and majestic Misti Volcanoes. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel prior to beginning your tour of Arequipa.
In the afternoon, we will explore the heart of Arequipa and enjoy the city’s best views. The Yanahuara and Carmen Alto viewpoints are unmissable stops on our route, from where we can appreciate the fantastic landscape of the countryside and the city at the foot of the imposing Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. We will visit the historic center and the beautiful Main Square, where the city was founded in 1540. The buildings in Arequipa are built in ashlar, the white volcanic stone that gives it its name of White City, among which stand out its portals and its imposing Cathedral recognized for its neo-Renaissance style with Gothic influences. We will visit other churches such as the Company of Jesus and we will walk through the streets reflecting the colonial history into the present day, such as San Francisco and Santo Domingo streets. We will end our walk in one of the most iconic places in the city: the fabulous Monastery of Santa Catalina. DAY 9 SACRED VALLEY · MACHU PICCHU · CUSCO

We will also visit the Koricancha temple, which during the Inca empire was a center of worship of the Sun and on which the Santo Domingo convent was later built as part of the evangelization process. Its baroque style façade built on solid Inca walls perfectly summarizes the syncretism of cultures in the city of Cusco. To appreciate the greatness of the Incas, we will ascend to the monumental fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which with its enormous carved stone walls constitutes one of the best examples of Inca military architecture. We will tour the archaeological center of Kenko, a ceremonial place where the sun, the moon and the stars were worshiped.
