DAY 1 LIMA
Afternoon City Tour
You will learn about the two characters of Lima: the modern one, reflected in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro; and the historic one, encapsulated in its historic center declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Along the tour through different districts of the city, we will see how the old and the modern coexist in buildings such as the Museum of Italian Art, Palace of Justice, Museum of Lima, Plaza San Martín, among others. We will discover the center of Lima on foot, having the Main Square as the focal point: a beautiful colonial square worthy of photography, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace. We will have the opportunity to enter one of the most iconic ecclesiastical spaces in Lima, the Convent of Santo Domingo, also declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity and where the relics of three Peruvian saints are found: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres and San Juan Macías. Leaving the historic center, we will return to modern Lima, meeting the Pacific Ocean for a fascinating view that we can enjoy from the iconic Park of Love and its famous sculpture created by national artist Víctor Delfín.
Accommodation : Lima for 2 nights
DAY 2 LIMA
Meals : Breakfast
Optional Excursions : Half Day bohemian and artistic Barranco walking (4 hours; private; a supplement will apply)
You will explore Lima’s creative hub: visit artists’ workshops, handicraft shops, and enjoy some of the best street art next to spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Lima Bay. Among beautiful historic architecture, you will learn about the history of the city, full of lovely roads, old houses, and small plazas, as well as buzzing cafes and restaurants. Take a stroll along the “malecon” and the famous “Bridge of Sighs”; visit the Barranco Main Square and hidden spots that only locals know. A visit to a renowned Peruvian artist’s home (Victor Delfin) and atelier will give you a sense of the boheme atmosphere this area has had since many years ago. And a brief stop at a prestigious local muralist’s workshop, whose pieces adorn many streets of the neighborhood, will show you how creativity continues to be in the heart of the Barranco experience. You will also get to take a peek at the areas’ best Peruvian art and handicraft stores.
DAY 3 LIMA · AREQUIPA
In the afternoon, we will explore the heart of Arequipa and enjoy the city’s best views. The Yanahuara and Carmen Alto viewpoints are unmissable stops on our route, from where we can appreciate the fantastic landscape of the countryside and the city at the foot of the imposing Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. We will visit the historic center and the beautiful Main Square, where the city was founded in 1540. The buildings in Arequipa are built in ashlar, the white volcanic stone that gives it its name of White City, among which stand out its portals and its imposing Cathedral recognized for its neo-Renaissance style with Gothic influences. We will visit other churches such as the Company of Jesus and we will walk through the streets reflecting the colonial history into the present day, such as San Francisco and Santo Domingo streets. We will end our walk in one of the most iconic places in the city: the fabulous Monastery of Santa Catalina. We will enter the cloisters, walk through its narrow corridors of intense colors, and admire its internal plazas, considered colonial architectural treasures, as well as rooms that house beautiful canvases from the Cusco School with indigenous and Spanish motifs. After the tour, return to the hotel.

DAY 11 CUSCO · PUERTO MALDONADO
4D/3N RESERVA AMAZONICA – SUPERIOR ROOM
Arrive into Puerto Maldonado, coined the Capital of Biodiversity. Transfer by road to the pier and begin your Amazon adventure with a 45-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River that splices through the rainforest. The motorized wooden boat hugs the meandering riverbanks to reach your eco-lodge, Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, in the middle of the rainforest. After a short brie ng, settle into your palm-thatched cabaña set within Peru’s rst ever private ecological reserve; established by Inkaterra in 1975, to protect this sensitive environment. After lunch, retreat to your rustic-luxury cabin for a nap or a swing in your hammock before choosing from the wide range of à-la-carte guided excursions with your expert Inkaterra Explorer Guide. We recommend walking along the Trail System for an immersive introduction into the intricate biodiversity of the Amazon basin and the layers of the rainforest. Walk along towering trees, like the Shihuahuaco, as your ears tune in to the croaks, rustles and calls of the exotic wildlife inhabiting this rich ecosystem. There are excellent opportunities for birding and observing an abundance of ora. Keep your camera ready just in case sloths or monkeys appear on the treetops. In the late afternoon, we highly recommend taking our gentle Twilight River excursion to witness the jungle transform from a diurnal to a nocturnal world: where daytime animals and birds give way to species specially adapted to the darkness of the night. You may also be able to spot the likes of nightjars, owls, capybaras and caimans lurking on the riverbanks. Amazonian-inspired dinner is served in the main dining room from 19:00-22:00 where we invite you to enjoy a complimentary Pisco Sour cocktail. Back in your comfy cabaña, listen to the intriguing sounds of critters that inhabit the rainforest surrounding the lodge.
