Costa Rica Exploring, Fly and Drive

Welcome to Costa Rica!
At the Liberia International Airport (LIR), our local representative will meet and greet you upon arrival and will provide some information and travel tips. Afterwards you will be provided with a 4x4 car rental and from this point on your clients would be driving on their own to the different areas set on the program. First destination will take you to the amazing location of Bagaces (approximate 1 ½ hour drive), near the base of the Miravalles Volcano, a region that is still undiscovered, so much so that the final road to the hotel is more ’off-road experience’ but definitely guests will be rewarded staying at Rio Perdido Hotel, an adventure complex with incredible wildlife and view of the tropical dwarf forest, where you can enjoy different extra cost activities, Thermal River, zip lines, trails and much more.
Rio Perdido” means “Lost River” and is perfectly hidden by its host canyon and a canopy of dense flora. Here, where geothermal heated waters flow from underneath massive boulders, you can explore the river canyon and enjoy a hiking experience. There is world-class canyoning and rappelling, and you can also cross a 200- foot hanging bridge. Hot springs are waiting for you at the end of this amazing day! Engulfed in nature, featuring a naturally heated river, world class mountain biking trail, on site canyon adventure tour, and thermal spa, with overall whole set of extra cost activities. Rio Perdido is the newest and most unique vacation spot in Costa Rica.

Day at leisure to relax and explore on your own the different activities within the area.

Today you will continue your driving experience by heading toward the Arenal Volcano area in an approximate 3-hour drive. You will be driving through the country scenery and around the famous Arenal lake.

Day at leisure in the area. There is a wide variety of activities and places to visit on your own. Some of these are the Arenal National Park, hot springs, horseback riding, rafting, canopy, hiking and a whole variety of activities to explore at an extra cost.

Breakfast at the hotel. The drive with your car rental will be taking you to the Monteverde area, around once again, the largest and the most important lake in Costa Rica, the Arenal Volcano and then detouring and ascending through the Tilarán Mountain Range. The final portion of your journey is on gravel roads, giving you more time to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, a 3 ½ hour approx. drive. You will be staying the next two nights at a selected hotel in Monteverde.

Today is set for you to relax or eventually discover on your own cost, the different activities, or places to visit in the Monteverde area, such as the Monteverde Reserve, canopy, hanging bridges, sky tram, butterfly garden and much more for you to discover.

Breakfast at the hotel. We recommend driving early morning as your driving experience will be taking you to the Guanacaste Mountain range, specifically to the Rincon de la Vieja area (around a 3 ½ hour drive). This route will provide you with panoramic views of the Gulf of Nicoya and the Tempisque river valley until reach the Pan-American Highway where you will notice a change between the cloud forest and the tropical dry forest that characterizes the entire Guanacaste Province. You will arrive in the Rincon de la Vieja area where you will stay one night.
You can also visit at your own cost, the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, enjoy horseback riding, canoeing and other activities.

Today your car rental return is programmed at the Liberia International Airport as you will be connecting with your international departure flight back home. This airport is located approximate 1 ½ hours from Rincon de la Vieja area (please take some additional minutes as well for the car rental drop off review).
